Putting in the work and it seems nothing is happening..

Dear Diary,

Today is one of those days. I just can’t seem to see any progress. I’m showing up every day. I’m doing all that I can to have my business work for me. Yet, there seems to be nothing to show for it.

This has to pan out for me.

~Blinded by self criticism

Can we have a little chat?

Yes?!?!

Okay good. Let’s talk about being blinded by our own self criticisms. It’s that constant little nagging that seems to creep in causing us not to see clearly.

It’s those times when we know in reality we are putting the work needed. Showing up everyday to give our time and attention to our business. We may even have neglected some of our other duties to see this business endeavor succeed. Yet, at the end of the day we can’t see anything for our hard work.

It’s time to take a step back and look at your business. Look at all the things you have accomplished. Look at all the goals you set for your business and have exceeded. Look at all the confidence you show everyday even when you are scared shitless for a new venture within your business. Look at all that you have learned just by doing your own research to better understand your business.

I know it can be hard to see where you really are when you are your own worst critic. It happens to the best of us. There is nothing wrong with wanting more for yourself/business. I would say find a way to keep yourself encouraged. One way to do this is to keep a journal. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. A plain old notebook will do the trick.

Take some time throughout the week to write down the things you have accomplished that week no matter how small. This will give you the chance to look back on what you have accomplished. Allowing you to see those things in action. I know it sounds simple. I find this to be very helpful in moments where I need that reminder that I’m doing my best. Or that boost to keep going.

If you have been criticizing yourself a bit too much it’s okay. Do your best to try and change those habits. Replace them with new ones by encouraging/praising yourself instead. It may not be easy to do in the beginning but over time things will change.

Keep going. You’ve got this!!

Until next time…
