Seeing yourself as your only competition

Dear Diary,

There are so many others doing what I do. How can it be that they are so much more successful than me? Aren’t I good enough? Don’t I have what it takes? I can’t turn back time and make myself young and perky again.

I know what I know. I won’t try to compare myself to anyone else. It’s too much work doing all of that!!

~ No one can be a better me than me

Today we will dive into something that really trips a lot of people up in this business.

Comparing yourself to others!!

I’m going to start by saying yes we should be very aware of others who do what we do. It’s one thing to know what the competition is doing. It’s a whole other ball game comparing yourself to them.

When we do what we do it’s important to get into a groove of setting your own style to what you’re doing. I’m not saying to try and reinvent the wheel of panty selling. I’m

saying set your own style to the system that is already in play. Let’s face it selling panties is a very lucrative business. There is a system to how it works. Follow the system but put your twist on it. Make yourself memorable to your buyers.

There are going to be some days that you feel that you’re not good enough. There are going to be days where you want to do what everyone else is doing. There are going to be days where you want to shortchange yourself for that sale. Know that it’s okay. We all have our days. Remember that you are doing the best that you can. Leave yourself open to learn each and every day. Do not. I repeat do not beat yourself up for having a moment of self pity. It happens but it’s about how you dust yourself off and keep going.

No one can be a better you than you. Only you can offer who you are. No one else can do that. Yes it will seem easier to do what everyone else is doing. But how does that make it special? It doesn’t. You are not a robot. There is no need to have a herd mentality in your business. Yes there are some things that could be done the same as others but to build your whole business on someone else’s style is not necessarily the best thing for you.

When you set your prices, create your pictures and ads do it in a way that is not to be in competition with anyone else but yourself. Set your prices etc so that you do not short change yourself. Trying to undercut the next person doesn’t get you that far if you are not truly covering the cost of your business. Set your prices to make sure you’re actually making profit. At the end of the day that is all that matters.

I urge you to look at yourself in the mirror today and know without a shadow of a doubt that you are uniquely you. No one else can do you better than you. Stand on that and move ahead in your business with confidence.

Until next time…
